Monitor Institute

From 2004 to 2008, the Monitor Institute worked with Fast Company magazine to identify high-performing nonprofit organizations with its Social Capitalist Awards. Monitor then graciously agreed to share lessons learned in developing an approach to third-party, arms-length assessment of non-profit organizations.

On June 1, 2009, the Hewlett Foundation hosted a teleconference where Monitor shared lessons learned with a group of nonprofit sector leaders. In the spirit of transparency, we have made an audio recording of that call available:

In addition, Monitor has shared a document with its analysis of the Awards as well as some further background materials.
